Research
Faculty conduct research in four broad areas of MIS:
Technology Adoption and Implementation
Systems Analysis, Design and Development
Collaboration and Coordination
IT Management
A list of the results of faculty in these areas including published papers,
books, white papers, working papers, and presentations is published on the CMISS website located
on the Faculty
page within the people link. Copies of the papers are available on request.
Semi-Annual Retreats
Retreats to share knowledge about IT issues are held in the Spring and Fall on the OU Campus each year.
All member organizations and faculty are welcome to participate in these retreats.
Sharing Information Among Members
Members discuss issues of importance to the IT industry during roundtable sessions at the fall CMISS meeting. These roundtable discussions have
proven to be a very valuable resource to all CMISS members.
Access to Students
Students interact with CMISS members' firms by making presentations at the retreats about topics of
interest to members, field project experience, internships and research projects.
Seminars*
CMISS members are invited to attend all faculty seminars that are held on the OU Campus.
Occasionally, visiting faculty from other institutions also offer seminars to which CMISS
members are invited.
* Some associations will accept our seminars for continuing professional credit. Please check
with the specific association to see if you can use these activities for such credit.
