and cross functional mentoring on current and emerging information technologies in a framework that
encourages innovation, collaboration, and validation.
The primary mission of CMISS is to develop a collaborative learning environment that brings together
researchers and practitioners interested in sharing scholarly and practical knowledge about
information systems issues in organizations.
This environment-—an unbiased, leading-edge forum for CMISS members and OU faculty to
maintain awareness of current issues and innovations in IS-—will include the conduct of applied
scholarly research by OU faculty in conjunction with CMISS members, the facilitation of applied
practical research within CMISS member firms and the dissemination of research results to all member
organizations. It will also include ongoing learning activities such as executive education. Additionally,
CMISS will seek to strengthen the relationship between employers (CMISS member firms) and employees
(MIS graduates) through field projects, internships and other structures.
