Research.
Faculty conduct research in four broad areas of MIS:
• Technology Adoption and Implementation
• Systems Analysis, Design and Development
• Collaboration and Coordination
• IT Management
A list of the results of faculty research in these areas including
published papers, books, white papers, working papers, and
presentations is published on the CMISS web-site at <http://www.cmiss.net>.
Copies of the papers are available on request.
-
Semi-annual
retreats. Retreats to share knowledge about IT issues are held
in
the Spring and Fall on the OU Campus each year. All member
organizations and faculty participate in these retreats.
-
Sharing
information among members. Members discuss issues of
importance to
the IT industry during roundtable sessions at Board meetings held
in the Fall and Spring and at CMISS workshops (see below). These
roundtable discussions have proven to be a very valuable resource
to all CMISS members. Members may contact other CMISS members
through the member directory available on the CMISS website.
-
Access to
students. Students interact with CMISS members’ firms by
making presentations at the retreats about topics of interest to
members, field project experience, internship lessons and research
projects.
-
Workshops.*
Two workshops per year on topics of interest to the CMISS
membership, such as IT security, e-Business, and ERP systems to
name a few, will be held on campus. These workshops typically will
be delivered by faculty and industry teams experienced in these
areas. Participation in these workshops is available to all CMISS
members and the public. Some associations will accept our seminars
and workshops for continuing professional credit. Please check
with the specific association to see if you can use these
activities for such credit.
-
Seminars.*
CMISS members are invited to attend all faculty seminars that are
held on the OU Campus. Occasionally, visiting faculty from other
institutions also offer seminars to which CMISS members are
invited.
